I have spent most of my life doing physical labor and I have very much enjoyed the practical results of a hard day’s work on the farm. After having some serious health issues and turning 75, I can no longer do physical work like I used to. I served as the ISKCON Global Minister of Cow Protection and Agriculture from 1998 – 2012 when I resigned due to these health issues. Now my health is stable and I can teach and direct others to do the service of cow protection. With 30 years of experience that comes from doing it yourself, I have been asked to travel to various locations locally and internationally to teach these skills and the philosophical understanding supporting cow protection.
Balabhadra das was personally initiated by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada in 1969 at the Honolulu temple on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. He was the first to be initiated by Srila Prabhupada in Hawaii. Balabhadra was a local boy who had grown up in Hawaii since he was five years old.
