Radhika Gives Her Love

Radhika Gives Her Love

Radhika is a merciful cow who bestows her love to cows and humans alike. She is always happy to greet guests and give her love with sloppy kisses.  She was rescued from an auction barn in 2014 along with seven other calves. If it were not for the mercy showed her by ISCOWP members, she would have been meat on someone’s dinner plate. Perhaps that is why she is so merciful to everyone else.

Radhika is another name for Srimati Radharani, the beloved of Lord Krishna. People often refer to the ‘grace’ of God or the ‘mercy’ of God. Srimati Radharani is that very ‘Grace’ and ‘Mercy’ of God.  She is the embodiment of His limitless compassion and love.  An act of charity on the special day of Radharani’s birthday (in the USA it is tomorrow) will invoke her “Mercy” for you.

Let a gift to the cows be your act of charity on Radharani’s birthday. August 3 started our Matching Gift Challenge for $25,000. An anonymous donor will match every dollar you give to the cows! As of September 1, ISCOWP received $12, 947.00 from all of you and that covers the winter hay for the ISCOWP herd of 24 cows! We have $12, 053.00 left to collect to match the $25, 000 Matching Gift Challenge. Our most immediate need now is purchasing nutritional buckets and fly predators for the cows.

Florida hay lacks protein which the nutritional buckets provide. The cows love licking the mix in the 225-pound bucket and eagerly gather when we bring a new bucket into the field.

$180 for one 225 pound nutritional bucket.

$3,250.00 for one year of nutritional buckets for the herd of 24 cows.

Flies can be a real problematic nuisance for cows, and we have found a solution in the past two years that keeps the cows relatively free of flies 95 percent of the time. Fly predators by Spalding Labs are the natural enemy of flies, but never bother people or animals.

$101.12 for one month supply of fly predators.

$1,415.68 for one year of fly predators for the herd of 24 cows.

Thanks to all of you for your generous charity for the cows. The cows and we are eternally grateful.

Radhika when she arrived at ISCOWP Sanctuary in 2014. Because of you and your generosity, she will never be sent to the slaughterhouse.

Hurricane Dorian

For those of you who might have been watching the movements of hurricane Dorian; it did not affect us except for the bunch of time we spent preparing for it. Our best wishes and prayers go out to those who were affected.
