Eight Rescued Calves Come Home

08/01/2014

Hare Krishna!

Instead of rescuing three calves the ISCOWP crew came home with eight. Their hearts were overwhelmed with the conditions of the cows at the auction barn and they had to rescue more.Four ISCOWP members came forth to donate a thousand dollars each to rescue, transport and maintain a calf for six months and name the calf. We now need four more donors to donate a thousand dollars each for the additional calves. The first four donors who give $1000 each will have the opportunity to give the calves devotional names. When you donate a thousand dollars we offer arthik and treats to the cows in your honor with prayers for your spiritual and material success. A video report will be sent to you of this event.

In honor of the upcoming most auspicious days of Lord Krishna’s birthday and Srila Prabhupada’s appearance day, sponsor a needy calf who has been ripped from his mother to be sold for meat. Your donation helps us take care of them and pay the expenses of rescuing them.Every penny counts, so donations of every level will help these needy calves and are highly appreciated. We have gifts for every level donation. You can also adopt one. Visit our adoption web pages and browse to find the one that touches your heart. Please view the following video of the eight calves coming home and meet each one.

Thank you so much!

Akshobhya

Name: Needs a Name. You name Him.
Breed: Black Angus
Herd Status: Baby boy
Nature: Handsome with a shiny black coat. He is humble but stubborn. It was obvious he didn’t know how to suck and in the beginning we had trouble feeding him his bottle. But now he has figured it out and he is doing well. Many of the calves at the auction barn do not know how to suck their mother’s milk because they were taken from their mothers at an early age and had either no experience, or very little experience, sucking their mothers’ milk. He very much wants to meet his sponsor who can give him a name. He would also like to meet his adopter.
